1. Sterilization effect: Sodium hypochlorite has a broad-spectrum bactericidal ability and can kill various bacteria and fungi. In acidic media, sodium hypochlorite reacts with amino and hydroxyl groups in microbial proteins to produce hypochlorous acid or hypochlorite amine substances for sterilization purposes.
In addition, it can also destroy the lipid bilayer structure on microbial cell membranes and cause bacterial death. Its bactericidal mechanism is as follows:
Deactivate enzymes through oxidation;
By inhibiting the oxidative phosphorylation process, the respiratory chain is interrupted, thereby suppressing metabolism and leading to bacterial death; Disinfectants also have a certain killing effect on viruses.
2. The bleaching effect is widely used as a disinfectant, bleaching agent, deodorizer, and deodorizer due to the strong oxidizing properties of hypochlorous acid and its ability to corrode the surface of fiber fabrics at high concentrations, causing them to fade and turn yellow. Used for washing clothes, it can make the fabric bright in color, soft and glossy in texture; When used for industrial circulating water purification, it can decompose and convert organic pollutants in water into harmless substances; Used in food processing to prevent food spoilage and color fading to maintain food freshness.
3. Soak vegetables in a solution containing 0.2% to 0.5% for 1-2 minutes before rinsing with clean water to remove odors. It can also be used to remove unpleasant odors such as fishy, scallion, garlic, and mold.
4. Freshness preservation: Soak fresh meat in a solution with a concentration of 0.02% to 0.05% for 2-3 minutes, then take it out and air dry to obtain dried or pickled meat products. If dried fresh meat products are soaked in solutions with concentrations of 0.1%, 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.7% for more than 5-10 hours, they can be made into salted egg sauce or egg yolk sauce and other products.
