Dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid is an organic compound with the molecular formula C18H30SO3, which is a light yellow to brown viscous liquid. Relative molecular weight 326.49, soluble in water, generates heat when diluted with water. Slightly soluble in benzene and xylene, easily soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, propanol, and ether. It has the functions of emulsification, dispersion, and stain removal.
Application of dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid:
1. Mainly used for manufacturing sodium, calcium, and ammonium salts of anionic surfactant alkylbenzenesulfonic acid;
2. Used as an emulsifier for organic chlorine and other substances;
3. Used as a curing catalyst for amino baking paint;
4. Used for preparing various liquid and solid detergents. Due to its stability in acidic solutions and good washing performance, it is often used in the preparation of acidic solution detergents such as toilet cleaners.
